Terms and conditions

These terms apply to everything you buy from us, online or in the showroom.

1. Scope

These terms apply to every purchase, whether ordered on this website, by email, by telephone or in the showroom. They sit alongside your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and nothing here reduces those rights. Where we offer more than the law requires, such as our 28 day change of mind window, that is a voluntary promise and applies on the conditions stated with it.

2. Product information

We aim to keep all descriptions, measurements, fabrics and photographs accurate. Screen colours vary, natural materials vary between batches, and hand finished furniture carries small differences between pieces. If a detail affects your decision, particularly measurements, please ask us to confirm it before you order.

The text, photography and design of this site belong to us or our licensors and may not be reused commercially without our permission.

3. Prices

All prices are in pounds sterling and are the full price payable for the piece. Delivery is charged separately and shown before you commit. Where a piece is listed as “price in showroom”, the price depends on options such as size and fabric, and we confirm it with you before the order is placed.

If a price is displayed in error, we will contact you and offer the choice of proceeding at the correct price or cancelling with a full refund. We are not obliged to honour an obvious pricing error.

4. Orders and contract formation

A listing on this website is an invitation to treat, not an offer to sell. Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we confirm your order or take payment, whichever occurs first.

We may decline an order, for example where a piece is out of stock, where we cannot deliver to your address, or where a pricing error has been identified. If we decline, any payment you have made is refunded in full.

5. Made to order and bespoke pieces

Many pieces are made to your size and fabric, usually in about three weeks. That timing is an estimate rather than a guarantee, as upholstery is handwork and fabric availability can affect it. If your piece will take materially longer than quoted, we will contact you, and if the delay is substantial you may cancel for a full refund.

Bespoke pieces are made to your specification and cannot be resold, so they fall outside the change of mind window. The detail is on the returns page. Please check size and fabric carefully when confirming your order. This does not affect your rights if a piece arrives faulty.

6. Payment

You may pay by card through our secure online checkout, or order by email or telephone and pay by a method agreed with you. Card payments are processed by an independent, regulated payment provider. Your full card details are never received or stored by us. A piece is not reserved until payment, or an agreed deposit, has been received.

7. Delivery

Delivery is free in Ipswich, £50 up to 100 miles from the showroom, and £100 beyond. Full detail is on the delivery page. Please inspect your piece on arrival and report any damage as soon as you reasonably can, with a photograph where possible.

Risk passes to you on delivery. Ownership remains with us until the piece has been paid for in full.

Please ensure the piece will fit through doors, stairwells and into the room. Measurements are available from us on request. If a delivery fails because access was not possible, a further delivery charge may apply to a second attempt.

8. Cancellations, returns and warranty

Change of mind, faulty goods and the twelve month warranty are covered on the returns page, which forms part of these terms. In summary: 28 days to change your mind on standard pieces bought online or in store, a 12 month warranty against manufacturing faults, and your statutory rights in addition.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, our liability for breach of these terms is limited to loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of the breach, up to the price paid for the piece concerned. We are not liable for unforeseeable loss, or for loss connected with a business, as we supply furniture for domestic use.

If an event outside our reasonable control, such as supplier failure or transport disruption, delays or prevents an order, we will tell you as soon as we can and resolve it as quickly as we can. If the delay becomes substantial, you may cancel for a full refund of anything paid.

10. Your details and site analytics

We use your contact details to answer your enquiry and to arrange your order and delivery, and for no other purpose. We do not sell your details, and we do not add you to marketing lists you have not asked for. This site uses Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use it, covering page views and journeys rather than your identity. To ask what we hold, or to have your details corrected or removed, email us.

11. General

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute falls to the courts of England and Wales. We may update these terms from time to time; the version published at the time of your order is the one that applies to it.
