Returns, refunds and your one year warranty
Twenty-eight days to change your mind, which is double the fourteen the law asks of us. A full year against manufacturing faults. And if you are in Ipswich, collecting the piece back costs you nothing.
- 28 days
- To change your mind, counted from the day the piece is delivered.
- 12 months
- Warranty against manufacturing faults.
- Collection
- Free in Ipswich. £50 up to 100 miles, £100 beyond, the same bands as delivery.
- Refunds
- Paid back within 14 days of the piece reaching us.
If you change your mind
You have 28 days from delivery to tell us a piece is not right for you. For anything bought online the law gives you 14 days; we would rather give you a month, because a sofa needs living with for a week or two before you really know.
It makes no difference whether you ordered online or walked into the showroom. The 28 days is the same either way. Most furniture shops give you nothing at all on an in-store purchase, because they do not have to. We would rather you bought the right sofa than kept the wrong one.
The piece needs to come back to us in the condition it arrived in, complete, and with anything that came with it. Sitting on a sofa is fine, that is what it is for. What we cannot resell is a piece that has been marked, cut, altered, or kept outdoors.
To start, call 07765 144096 or email us with your name and what you ordered. We will agree a collection day with you.
What sending it back costs
- Ipswich is free, exactly as delivery is.
- £50 up to 100 miles, £100 beyond, the same three bands as delivery.
- If you cancel an online order within the first 14 days, we also refund what you paid us to deliver it. The cost of collecting it back is still yours.
- Between day 15 and day 28 the delivery you originally paid is not refunded. That is our own goodwill window rather than a legal one, so those are the terms it comes with.
Pieces we cannot take back for a change of mind
Three exceptions, and they are the standard ones:
- Made-to-order and bespoke pieces. A bespoke sofa or bed is cut and upholstered to the shape and fabric you chose, so there is no second customer for it. Under UK law made-to-measure goods sit outside the cancellation right, and they sit outside our 28 days too.
- Mattresses once the hygiene wrapping is opened. Sealed and unopened, a mattress comes back like anything else.
- Flat-pack that has been assembled. Tell us before you build it.
None of this applies if the piece is faulty. A fault is a fault whether it was made to order or not, and the next section is the one that covers you.
If something is faulty
This is separate from changing your mind, and your rights here are stronger.
- First 30 days. If a piece is faulty you can reject it and have your money back in full. We collect it at our cost.
- First 12 months. Our warranty covers manufacturing faults: frames, mechanisms, stitching and springs that fail because of how the piece was made. We repair it, or replace it if a repair will not do the job.
- Your legal rights sit underneath all of this. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 entitles you to goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Our warranty is offered on top of that, never instead of it, and nothing on this page reduces it.
What the warranty does not cover
Accidental damage, normal wear such as fabric softening and foam settling, damage from misuse or from cleaning products the fabric was not made for, and any piece that has been altered or repaired by someone else. Fabrics and leathers vary a little between batches, and a natural material will change slightly in the light; that is the material behaving normally rather than a fault.
How to start
Ring 07765 144096 or email zavvinkofurniture@gmail.com. Have your name, roughly when it was delivered, and what the piece is. For a fault, a photograph or two saves everyone a trip. You are also welcome to come into the showroom at Anglia Retail Park and talk to us in person, which is usually the fastest way to sort anything out.
